AutoMotive3D is a 3D interactive engine simulation platform. Build real parametric engines, swap branded aftermarket parts, diagnose faults with live DTC codes, design your own motor from scratch, and battle in the arena.
Straight Out Of The App
Not renders. Not mock-ups. These are captures of the running app — a 383 small block at 8.8:1 on 14 psi of boost, built, inspected, and then deliberately destroyed on the wrong fuel.
Captured at 1920×1080 from the current build. The engine in these shots is a real configuration you can make yourself in the custom designer.
What's Inside
The 3D engine bay is just the entry point. What you find inside goes far deeper than swapping a valve cover.
A real-time Three.js engine bay where the geometry responds to your choices. Change bore and stroke in the custom designer and watch the pistons and crank geometry update live.
Build and battle with the SBC 350, SBC 383, SBC 400, and Inline-4. Each engine is a fully spec'd package — its own parts catalog, subsystem map, and fault set. More platforms coming soon.
4+ EnginesInject real faults — Blown Head Gasket, Low Compression, Oil Pan Leak, Exhaust Manifold Leak, Loose Head Bolts — and see the affected mesh highlight with animated effects and a plain-English explanation. Every fault includes its DTC code.
DTC CodesDefine bore, stroke, compression ratio, and induction type. The platform synthesises your spec into a complete engine package on the fly — with its own dyno curve, fault profile, and arena stats. Save multiple designs.
ParametricPut two engines head-to-head in the arena. Bench one motor against another — stock vs. built, factory vs. custom — and see the performance delta across power, torque, and fault tolerance.
Run your engine on the virtual dyno. See how your part choices and motor specs translate into a power and torque curve before you spend a dollar on parts.
Every aftermarket part is a real product with an actual SKU, price, rating, and buy link. Tap any part to go straight to Summit Racing. Parts affect the live 3D appearance via material overrides.
Summit Racing linkedSpread the entire engine apart layer by layer. Each subsystem flies to its own offset so you can inspect clearances, identify components, and understand how everything assembles.
A step-through coachmark walkthrough runs automatically for new users — covering the engine bay, build panel, fault simulator, and arena. Replayable any time from the ? button.
Engine Roster
Each engine is a self-contained package with its own parts, faults, and arena stats. Lock in your motor and build from there.
The classic 5.7L SBC. The baseline motor — proven, tunable, and deeply documented. Every aftermarket brand makes something for it.
The 350 block bored and stroked to 383 ci. More displacement, more torque — same bolt pattern, entirely different personality.
The largest production small-block. Big bore, long stroke — the torque-first platform for heavy-duty and tow applications.
The efficient four-cylinder platform. Different architecture, different fault profile, different aftermarket — same depth of simulation.
Additional engines are in the roster — announced before they're fully drawn. Check back as the platform grows.
Design your own engine from bore, stroke, CR, and induction. The 3D geometry updates live. Save as many custom motors as you want.
Every other engine visualiser shows you how things run. AutoMotive3D shows exactly what happens when they fail — in 3D, with physics-accurate explanations and real DTC codes.
Inject a fault and the affected mesh highlights with animated effects. A plain-English explanation describes the failure at the component level — what broke, why, what the symptoms are, and how to fix it.
The same fault engine covers every motor in the roster, including your custom designs.
| Severity | Example Fault | DTC |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | Engine within spec | — |
| Warning | Low Compression | P0301 |
| Warning | Oil Pan Leak | — |
| Warning | Exhaust Manifold Leak | P0171 |
| Critical | Blown Head Gasket | P0301 |
| Critical | Loose Head Bolts | — |
Visual effects include: pulse, flicker, fade, highlight, particle burst
Subsystems
Every part in the engine belongs to a subsystem. Tap any system to isolate and highlight it — the rest fades so you can focus.
Block, pistons, crankshaft, oil pan, dipstick, oil filter, senders.
Cylinder head, camshaft, valve covers, valvetrain — seals the bores and works the valves.
Intake manifold, carburettor, air cleaner, distributor, PCV breather, throttle linkage.
Exhaust manifold / tubular headers — collects spent gases from each bank's ports.
Flywheel, bell housing, starter — where the engine meets the transmission.
Water pump, cooling fan, drive belt, thermostat — keeps everything at operating temperature.
Alternator — belt-driven generator that keeps the battery charged while running.
